PS K077 is a safe school where students agree that most children treat each other with respect and that bullying does not occur frequently, surveys report. The school has a robust arts program that includes filmmaking, animation and a performance of the Lion King, according to the schools website.

The school, which serves around 290 students grades K-12, is located in four sites across Brooklyn. According to the Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP), the school consists of 19 classes that are grades K-5, 13 classes that are grades 6-8 and 13 classes that are grades 9-12. There are also six inclusion classes that range from elementary school through high school. The attendance rate for the 2015-2016 year was 91.1 percent, according to the Comprehensive Education Plan.

Students also take a work study preparation class, according to the Quality Review. In one class they participated in a group activity that targeted how to identify stress and possible stressors at work and their personal lives.

ADMISSIONS: Citywide. PSK077 is part of District 75, a network of 69 schools dedicated to New York Citys students with disabilities who require increased attention. District 75 provides educational, vocational, and behavioral support programs for students who are on the autism spectrum, have significant cognitive delays, are significantly emotionally challenged, have a sensory impairment or have multiple disabilities.(Katie Safter & Hugo Segal, web reports, August 2017)
