Our Insights

Housed in PS 156 in Laurelton, Queens United Middle School opened in 2013, replacing the upper grades of PS 156. Students may take courses in social media, television, radio, and film in a new Media and Technology wing that has a television set stage, production studios and  computers, according to the Middle School directory.

Toshalyn Francis became principal in 2018. To foster respect and trust among students, each grade goes on “team building trip,” according to the school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan.

Admissions: Limited Unscreened: District 29 students or residents who sign in at an information session receive priority. (Melanie Quiroz, web reports and DOE data, April 2019)
